Deux is famous for the first hip-hop group in Korea and a black music group composed of high school alumni and close friends Kim Sung-jae and Lee Hyun-do.

DEUX is pronounced the word "two" in French, as an English.

At the time of active service, it was a little lacking to say that it peaked throughout the entire period of activities under the shadow of Seo Tae-ji and boys, but there is no No. 1 career in the top 10 of KBS, which was so strong as to be called the Billboard chart in Korea. However, two songs from the second album "We" and the third album "Out of the Goule" ranked first in SBS TV's 20th, which counts the rankings mainly for younger people. In the late 1980s, the new jack swing led by Teddy Riley led the popularization with popular and sophisticated hip-hop music, and after DEUX's debut, the genre of hip-hop began to take root in the Korean pop music industry.

Although the group has only released two years of activities and three full-length albums, it has left a huge mark on Korean hip-hop as a group with proper black music for the first time. If Seo Tai-ji and boys pulled rap into a song based on rock, DEUX should be the first group to show authentic hip-hop based on black music. In fact, if rap until the early 90s had a strong sense of the side branch inserted in dance music, DEUX's rap was dynamic and organized, and the chorus part is also a sophisticated song that is not tacky even now.

As such, DEUX is in many ways a group that is rated higher after its dissolution than at the time of its activities.

They were active even after the dissolution. Lee Hyun-do gave numerous masterpieces to singers and also worked as a producer.
Kim Sung-jae also declared his solo career, but unfortunately, he will be questioned after the first broadcast. His posthumous work, <As I Told You>, still remains a legend.
