In this posting, I'd like to introduce Korean special music to you guys.
In early 2000's, he swept Korea and Japan with his own music.
His name is E-PAK-SA.
E is his family name. (Normally we write Lee in Korea)
And PAK SA means Dr.. (Normally we call one guys Paksa to respect him.)

He is a representative and musician of Korean pop music, and one of the few trot singers to be treated as superstars in Japan. He was born on October 5, 1954 in Hwado-myeon, Yangju-gun. His real name is Lee Yong-seok.

They created songs that combine EDM and techno, respectively, and created new genres in trot. He is a singer who is pioneering his own independent sphere that contradicts the existing trot singers. He once collaborated with Japanese electronica groups such as "Denky Grove," which is famous in the world's electronic music scene, and released albums. Although there were many cases where oral songs and trot songs were covered, original numbers exist and are talked about for their psychedelicity beyond their unique genres. It's literally the alpha and omega of the unofficial genre of "ppongjjak." He is a singer who has established his own style despite being rejected by the self-proclaimed traditional trot musician.

Making his debut as a singer in 1989, he released Dr. Shinbaram Lee Vol.1. Songs that are quite different from traditional highway pongjjak will gain incredible popularity, recording more than 1 million tapes sold. In the aftermath of this popularity, he appeared on various programs, and since then, he has released 19 albums, and has gained huge popularity on each album, selling them on the highway.

However, Lee and his manager, who helped him, decided that there was a limit because it was a hit in a limited field, planned to enter Japan in 1995. I tried to predict the possibility of entering Japan through Japan's Modi label, but fortunately, there was a representative of Sony Music who listened to the sample, so I was able to release an album and enter Japan easily.

After releasing his first Japanese debut album, Encyclopedia of Pon-Chak in 1996, he gained fame in Japan, and later became a "star across the sea" in Japan with various albums such as "Heightened by 5cm".


In 1997, he collaborated with Japanese avant-garde art group Mae and Denki (Myunghwa Electric), releasing an album with cosmic sense, starting with the title "I Am a Space Fantasy". Listen to all the songs in the album's album with the same name was remade into Space Fantasy as a reorganization of techno musician Ga Jae-bal when his first album was released in Korea. In addition, the company has gained considerable recognition in Japan by unexpectedly engaging in active activities in the electronica sector. For reference, in the late 1990s (98), when indie music was booming in Korea, a musician named Bolbbalgan released the song's homage, "I'm the Fantaji of the Body," on his first album "Jirubak Remix Show."
In particular, he worked on the album "Dr. Lee Denki Grove: Open Up" with Grove in 1996, and because he started working on the techno scene, Korean electronic scene recognized him as making Japanese techno music, which was not common in Korea at the time.

He also performed at the opening stage of Denki Grove's dance performance, gaining popularity from the album. He also gave a lecture on the history and tradition of Korean trot at the invitation of the University of Tokyo.
