[Kpop] Newest Kpop Chart and Recommendation (feat. Brave Girls)

It has selected top 10 songs for the past week on Melon Chart, Korea's top music streaming service. No. 1 is Brave Girls‘ <Rollin’>, No. 2 is IU's <LILAC>, No. 3 is IU's <Celebrity>, No. 4 is Brave Girls' <We Ride>, No. 5 is SG Wannabe's <Timeless>, No. 6 is SG Wannabe's <LaLaLaLa>, No. 7 is SG Wannabe's <Partner for Life>, No. 8 is IU’s <Coin>, No .9 is IU’s <Hold My Hand> and No. 10 is BTS’s <Dynamite>.

There are two things that stand out in this week's chart.

The first is the appearance of songs called "Reverse Driving” in Korea. In Korea, Yes, “Reverse Driving” is a slang. We use it when the song which was originally not popular but came back in top of the music chart at the moment. Like that Brave Girls' <Rollin‘> was released in March 2017, SG Wannabe's <Timeless> in January 2004, <LaLaLa> in April 2008, and <Partner for Life> in April 2006.

Usually in Korea, songs that are not highlighted at the time of release, are highlighted after a long time, or have recently regained popularity are called “Reverse Driving"

In the case of Brave Girls, it was not highlighted at the time of their debut and activities, but it began to gain popularity among soldiers in their early 20s through the military consolation performance program “Consolation Train," which recently gained popularity across the country.

SG Wannabe is a group of three men who debuted in 2004 and mainly sing medium tempo's cheerful songs and ballads. They have been loved since their debut. Their debut song, <Timeless> was a good song, and the movie-like music video was very impressive. Since then, the album has temporarily suspended its activities for the last time in 2011 with hits such as <Partner for Life> and <LaLaLa> on the charts. There are still few individual activities, but they were able to confirm their popularity again when they recently appeared on MBC's popular entertainment show "Hangout with Yoo."

The second notable feature is IU, Brave Girls and SG Wannabe's triad. The aforementioned Brave Girls and SG Wannabe are ranked in the Top 10 with more than two songs in reverse, and Korea's top young singer-songwriter "IU" has ranked four songs in the Top 10 to show their robustness. LILAC, the same name as her fifth album "LILAC," released in March this year, nicely unraveled the contrasting breakup situation on a wonderful spring day with her own lyrics and voice, and it is notable that two other songs from the same album and "Hold my hand," a drama OST, are also climbing the charts.

With Brave Girls, IU and SG Wannabe doing well, "Dynamite" by BTS, the most popular idol group in Korea, ranked 10th.

Along with the Top 10 Chart introduction, this article introduces Brave Girls, the current top issue in Korea.

Originally Brave Girls was a five-member women's dance group that debuted in April 2011, but it was reorganized into a five-member group in 2016 with additional members. As mentioned earlier, it has not gained popularity for 10 years since its debut, creating an atmosphere to organize the team in early 2021.

However, <Rollin'> went against the charts as the program "Consolation Train" was re-examined around Youtube.

As you know, in Korea, men are obliged to serve in the military when they are over 20. For soldiers in their early 20s, female idol groups are a big help, and Brave Girls, who have not been cast on famous TV programs, focuses on a program called “Consolation Train" run by Defense TV for South Korean soldiers. This is the secret to their current popularity. As shown in the video below, they were the best idols for South Korean soldiers. Eventually, this popularity expanded to national popularity, and on March 14, it finally topped the SBS Popular Song Program.

There are currently four members, including main vocalist Minyoung, subvocalist Yoojung and Eunji, and leadvocalist Yoona. Currently, she is active mainly on <We Ride> and has become the number one entertainment program in Korea.

I really look forward to the active activities of women who have endured difficult and difficult times.
